Pedro Braga

PhD Candidate
I am a Ph.D. Candidate in CS at the Center of Informatics (CIn) of the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), Brazil, with Prof. Hansenclever Bassani. Currently, I am also affiliated with the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) and Mila as part of my Ph.D., under the supervision of Prof. Samira Ebrahimi Kahou.
My research focuses on unsupervised learning and self-supervision in representation learning for applications in computer vision and reinforcement learning.
Before, I received MSc and BSc degrees in CS from CIn-UFPE and Universidade Católica de Pernambuco (UNICAP), Brazil, with distinction. In 2020, the Brazilian Computer Society awarded my MSc thesis as the 3rd best on AI in Brazil. Moreover, I spent time as a Temporary Assistant Professor at CIn-UFPE. Also, I have been organizing the LatinX in AI Research Workshops since 2019.
